Aufgaben

You will be involved in the mechanical hardware development, integration and validation of complex modules and components related to position, motion and force control. Your daily work will involve

  • Leading a small project team of engineers based on your level of seniority, technical expertise and social skills
  • Understanding how module level position, motion and force control requirements (stiffness, natural frequency, thermal expansion) are derived from overall system performance requirements (precision, speed, servo bandwidth)
  • Translating module level position, motion and force control requirements as provided by the system architect into technical requirements and design parameters at component level
  • Conceptual design of modules and components to meet functional and non-functional requirements
  • Supporting technical decision making with analytical engineering calculations and in-depth numerical simulations as conducted by your colleague analysts (FEM) and control engineers
  • Detailed design of components (3D models, drawings), manufacturing follow-up and assembly support
  • Constructing validation plans to verify performance requirements, supporting testing and reporting on test results
  • Following and documenting the steps of the product development process (requirements definition, concept design, detailed design, validation)

Anforderungen

  • MSc in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Minimum 3-5 years of work experience in a product development environment
  • Proven experience in communicating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Solid theoretical knowledge of engineering physics in the fields of mechanics, dynamics, material science and heat transfer
  • Practical knowledge of precision mechanism hardware components and measurement & calibration equipment as obtained from supporting assembly and test
  • Knowledge of design principles for precision mechanisms to obtain repeatable system behavior and enable calibration of residual errors
  • Knowledge of capabilities and limitations of manufacturing processes such as machining, additive manufacturing, bonding and sheet metal
  • Ability to translate functional requirements into dimensional component specifications
  • Experience in modelling and drafting using parametric 3D CAD software
  • Familiarity with High Tech technology applications and their domain specific environments and requirements (cleanroom, vacuum, optics)
  • Project communication in English and Dutch
  • Self-starter, initiating tasks, pro active attitude
  • Ability to rapidly comprehend at a conceptual
  • Ability to transfer your knowledge to team members
